Best Business Podcast Cyber Made Human is back!

The premiere of Series 2 took place this Monday! Here’s what’s changed since Series 1, what you can expect from the new series, and some exclusive insights from the behind-the-scenes production.

Also, read all about our first episode with the talented Mark Adams. We discuss the ethics of AI, Silicon Valley culture versus the Cheltenham cyber scene, and his tips for startups.

Lets begin!

Welcome to a New, Improved, Series 2!

We have refined our production process, carefully selected topics and guests, expanded our team, and refined our creative vision. A key component of our new strategy is developing the series’ commercial viability. This is no longer Alice’s passion project; it’s now a business asset!

Cyber Made Human Turns Blue

A key learning from Series 1 was that having the same purple branding as Alice Violet Creative led some people to confuse Cyber Made Human with the name of the company, rather than our podcast. This led to Alice being introduced as the founder of a cyber company called Cyber Made Human, not the Founder of a Content Agency for the cyber sector; Alice Violet Creative!

Our new branding gives Cyber Made Human a distinct aesthetic, with its own colour palette and updated typography. We also have a new set of brand materials (yes, more stickers!), fresh music, animations and templates. Watch this space!

New Episodes Every 3 Weeks

To keep up with the appetite for regular content, Series 2’s posting schedule is now every three weeks, rather than monthly. Not only can we increase the circulation of content, but we can also build momentum with listeners, improve our engagement rates, and maintain invested interest.

Follow Cyber Made Human’s Dedicated Social Media Channels

We have created dedicated Cyber Made Human social media channels on LinkedIn, TikTok, and Instagram, in addition to our existing presence on YouTube. This allows followers and subscribers to get podcast-centric content without diluting our Alice Violet Creative content. Therefore, we can post more regularly, which will give us more exposure to episodes and sponsors.

Overall, this enables us to gain podcast-specific insights into the performance of the show’s promotional content, allowing us to tailor content that performs well. A Reel for Alice Violet Creative is often a very different style to that of Cyber Made Human, and we can now track and optimise them separately.

Cyber Made Beautiful

Visually, we are striving to expand the range of locations featured across the series. One way we are incorporating this is through dedicated live episodes. Series One featured two live episodes, which were a great way to introduce the show to new audiences who aren’t typical podcast listeners.

Series 2 kicks off with two live episodes at our launch premiere at Cheltenham’s private members’ club, Ocho. An exciting addition to the CMH venue repertoire, Ocho is a luxurious sanctuary with a stunning array of pieces from proprietor Ricardo’s private art collection on display. We chose this venue because it complements the theme of the evening, where culture meets cyber, as the backdrop for innovative conversation.

AVC Team

Series 1 featured Alice as the simultaneous producer, director, and camera operator, which was as challenging as it sounds! With the success of Alice Violet Creative and our expanding team, we can now delegate those skills to a dedicated crew. From planning, to production, to editing and promotion, we now have specific deliverables spread across the team to elevate everything we create. This new approach will replicate the high-end work we produce for both our clients.

Here’s a preview of our upcoming episodes:

What Happens When Tech Says No to Government? – Paul Ducklin
The Ethics of AI in Deep Fakes and the Future of Digital Art – The Peeps
Educating the Next Generation of Cyber – Joe Cox
The Rise of Companion Chat Bots and ChatGPT Therapy – Katie Muldoon
Start-up Speed vs Government Scale – Rebekka Bishop
Communicating Cyber Like a Human – Cath Goulding

Episode 1: AI Ethics, Silicon Valley Culture & Startups with Mark Adams

Marks Adams on Cyber Made Human | Best Business Podcast Cyber Made Human

In our first episode, we met with Mark Adams to learn about his fascinating 40-year-long career, which has encompassed cybersecurity, government and, more recently, the startup scene. Our discussion began with Mark’s reflections on his time in Silicon Valley and the cultural differences between it and Cheltenham, as well as the differences in approach between the UK and the US regarding emerging technology.

In Mark’s view, the key contrast was that whilst Silicon Valley had the vision and the money, the main roadblocks came from an absence of the deep technical skills that Cheltenham takes for granted.

“I think one of the interesting things about Silicon Valley is everybody is just so optimistic about the future, and that’s why startups work so well there. I think American children are taught that they could be the President of the United States. That optimism lives through their whole life, so the people there just know that they can take tech and build something amazing with it, the optimism is crazy!”

Mark Adams, Guest

Mark revealed that one of the difficulties in America was the view that if something required an investment of less than a million dollars, it would be too challenging to undertake. This is due to the aforementioned cost of technical expertise and the potential costs which can arise as a project gets further into development. On the other hand, the UK was more adept at figuring out how to get a project underway for lower costs, instead of putting value on expertise, knowing how to keep technical costs down whilst producing the same effective results.

“I think that might be our superpower here. It comes from the deep knowledge that’s here because you’ve got the people who can make it from scratch”.

Mark Adams, Guest

Currently, Mark is working on an open-source project called Trust Graph, which aims to enhance the capabilities of AI. As an emerging technology, much-needed development is still needed at this stage. However, advancements in AI have progressively increased the pace at which breakthroughs can be achieved. This, however, raises several moral and ethical questions.

Best Business Podcast Cyber Made Human Reflects: What’s Lies Ahead?

Few podcasts compare to Cyber Made Human, as many within this sector are targeted towards educating people within the industry. By contrast, we aim to broaden the conversation to a wider audience. By removing the conversation from the echo chamber, we can foster and encourage new and innovative perspectives.

We understand that to communicate cybersecurity effectively, the conversation must become multifaceted. For instance, an investor who doesn’t understand cybersecurity, a CEO of a company, or a Chief Information Security Officer, all of whom have different perspectives and priorities. All these intricacies we know. So, it’s not just that we can translate cybersecurity; we translate it in a way that works for high-level, intelligent people and is relevant to them.

With that said, we look forward to returning to our reinvigorated series and producing new instalments for our ever-growing audience base.

We also offer end-to-end services from creative direction to high-end production to building your promotion strategy. We also offer host and guest training, and can upskill your in-house team on editing and production.
