Cyber Made Human Live: The Empathy Algorithm
Have you ever used an AI tool to navigate a difficult conversation, loneliness, or unpack past trauma?
Following the success of our fourth-anniversary celebration earlier this year, An Evening of Art, Cyber and Conversation, we are pleased to announce our next live event, The Empathy Algorithm.
As part of their week-long Securing the Future of Technology Series, our cyber podcast in Cheltenham is teaming up with CyNam for a special live Cyber Made Human episode. We will be exploring the rise of AI usage within emotional spaces, therapeutic practices, as well as the impact this may have on both individual and societal emotional intelligence.
Host Alice Violet will explore the rise of AI as companions, therapists, and conversational supports, joined by Senior Leadership Coach and Consultant Katie Muldoon, and Alexander Giles, Chief Commercial Officer at GHS Clinics.
The Empathy Algorithm promises to be a thought-provoking discussion comparing insights from our ecosystem survey with wider UK data insights.
To attend this event, you will need to sign up via CyNams’ Eventbrite page here.

The Event: The Empathy Algorithm
The discussion will explore the growing role of AI in people’s personal and professional lives, focusing on its use as a supportive tool in therapeutic settings and practices. This can range from how humans have begun to use AI as an emotional outlet and source of guidance to AI being utilised as an alternative for professional therapists in more severe cases.
This live discussion will ask and attempt to answer the key questions at the heart of this debate. Namely, how will this affect how we develop meaningful emotional attachments? How reliable a solution is this to the growing rise in mental health cases? What does this mean for more traditional in-person therapies, and how open will the next generation be if chatbots guide them?
Striking a balance between the topics at hand and the complex language barrier presented will be our host, Alice, who will guide us through the critical terminology present when discussing AI and Deep Tech.
With a unique blend of human experience, community insights, and topical data results, this conversation will offer valuable insights for anyone interested in the rise of AI, Psychology, and sociology.
Our Guests
Our panel features two carefully chosen guests to unpack this complex topic:
Alexander Giles
With over 25 years of experience in technological innovation, strategic planning and business development, Alexander has a strong intuition when it comes to establishing early-stage technologies. The Chief Commercial Officer at GHS Clinic, Alexander, spearheads growth initiatives that focus on creating impact within the healthcare sector. Notably, this has been through Second Prime™, a proprietary healthspan system.
The objective is to provide longevity with integrity: cognitive clarity, physical confidence, hormonal balance and purposeful momentum, decade after decade. Alexander has done remarkable work in this sector through developing and executing strategies that drive commercial success, foster key partnerships, and deliver exceptional value to both patients and stakeholders.
With prior experience leading the Innovation and Commercial Development teams at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Alexander has deep insights into the present situation.
Katie Muldoon
A senior leadership coach and consultant, Kaite has an extensive breadth of experience to draw upon for this discussion. Katie’s career began in the Royal Air Force, where she was involved in several critical roles such as patrolling with the Royal Marines and assessing helicopter safety in battle zones.
With 20 years of experience in organisational culture and innovation, she holds a Master’s in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Glasgow and a Master of Philosophy in International Relations from the University of Cambridge. Currently, Katie is completing her MBA at Warwick Business School, focusing on talent development in the digital age.
Key to this topic will be her psychoanalytic insights.
Trained at the British Jungian Analytic, Katie is the founder of Yellowrattle Coaching, a practice which integrates psychodynamic theories to address both individual and organisational needs. Association informs her psychodynamic coaching approach.
